The focal point of the room was the newly modify bookshelves. It was quite long and narrow, and this was perfect to create the cosy and warm look the client was looking for. The layout of the room was pretty straightforward since the beginning. We decided to create the additional units in white, to keep it as neutral as possible and also to increase the reflection of light on this room. Therefore, we obtained the look of a single big TV unit and created consistency and clarity in the new design. The ideas was to create a link between the two bookshelves.
This cabinet consisted of one unit on top and one bellow to surround the TV area. This limited the option as we couldn’t place them together if we wanted to create a neat look.Īfter different options and ideas, we decided to create an additional cabinet to unify both bookshelves. One was wider but also, one was slightly deeper than the other. Going into details, the biggest concern with the bookshelves was that although they looked the same on form and style, they were different sizes. It didn’t seem the same room, even though we were using some strong items from the previous design and we stick to the previous colour scheme. At the same time we were able to find a way to create a new story with it. This room makeover was super interesting. Nevertheless, we decided to make it work and started to play around with different furniture options, layouts and items that we thought would achieve the desired look. We didn’t think that the style she had in mind was compatible with the style of that furniture. The bookshelves were quite big and they were a statement by themselves. She wanted to maintain the bookshelves and integrate them into the new design. However, she had some particular requirement. The style she had in mind was a neutral, calm minimal look. She was open to suggestions and she wanted fresh ideas and concepts from us. Some living room remodel tips were implemented in order to achieve this.
In this particular case, our client wanted to redesign her living room to achieve a cosier and more stylish look. With clever thinking and a good sense of space planning, any room can be converted into a different and improved one.
